Mason County Volunteers were given a volunteer recognition party on December 9, 2009 to thank them for their contributions to the community. Ronnie Ault, RSVP Director gave the welcome, told the volunteers about the program, thanked them for their hours of service and told them how critical they are to meeting needs in the community. The meal was served and door prizes were awarded. A time of fellowship was enjoyed by all.
Ronnie Ault also presented the county with a non-negotiable check stating that Mason County volunteers served 37,464 hours of community service for the year of 2008 at 25 volunteer stations with 52 jobs. At $6.55 an hour this amounted to $245,389.20
This shows the value of volunteers. They are the heartbeat of a community.
