Wednesday, January 6, 2010 • Posted January 6, 2010

INGRAM—The Hill Country Arts Foundation will present "Timeless Tunes – the Stories and the Songs," by The Almost Patsy Cline Band, Jan. 10 on The Point Theatre indoor stage. Tickets are now on sale for the show which will be performed Sunday at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

"Timeless Tunes" is a musical review of the music, writers and performers of some of country music’s greatest tunes. Written by band members Lanette Pennell and Vicki Gillespie, the show has dazzled audiences since its introduction last year.

"We wrote the show because we love county music and have always enjoyed talking about the history of songs and the songwriters. Every member of our band has played and travelled the nation with major performers. It just became natural to want to share our experiences and knowledge with those who love country music," said Pennell.

Pennell (bass guitar and vocals) and Gillespie (keyboard and vocals) formed The Almost Patsy Cline Band in 2002. While the two women perform the works of female country legends, band members Larry Nolen (guitars and vocals), Paul McLaughlin (lead guitar, piano, trumpet, and fiddle) and Rick Reynolds (drums and vocals) play songs by Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Mel Tillis and others. The band members are known as Bandera’s Official Goodwill Ambassadors.

Tickets are $10. For reservations or more information, call 830-367-5121 or visit The Point Theatre is located at 120 Point Theatre Road South in Ingram.
