Mason Lions Roar

The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, Jan. 5th 2010, for its monthly business meeting. There were 39 members and 8 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were 2 Mason High School Seniors, Eloy Villarreal and Brandon Morgan.

"Boss" Lion Chris Dyer was responsible for the program and Sec./Tres. Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report. Two new members were installed, they were Hank Breen and his sponsor Nolan Donop and John Henry Leifeste and his sponsor Chuck Bearden.

"Boss" Lion Chris Dyer reported that the new Pedia-Vision machine had been used quite a lot lately, with good reports from Eye Care Professionals.

The club will have a Pancake Supper on Feb. 9th—Pancake Supper will be held in the Mason High School Commons Area next to the H. S. Gym. We want everyone to come out and support both the students and the Lions Club.

The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, January 12, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Brent Hinckley.

The Mason Lions Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
