Bits of Art

It’s a great day in Art. The temperature is about 40 and going up to make a good day for a Monday. Get out and do something amazing for the world.

Celebrating her birthday on January 15th is Lou Fleming, Kambree Kothmann will have her party on January 18th. Dorothy Johnson has her birthday on January 19th and John Koock celebrates on January 21st. Keep warm and have a great special day.

Have you noticed the latest addition to The Art Methodist Church? Kathy and Wayne Jordan have honored their parents, Rev. Ervin Max Jordan and Mabel Sophie Ericson, with a beautiful stained glass window above the south doors of the church. To get the full effect of the window you need to go to the church after the sun has come up a bit.

Go in the back door and open the door to the sanctuary. In the darkened church, the only light is shining brightly through the new window. Sit and watch the image go down. We thank Wayne and Kathy for the beautiful addition to the church. A window is being planned for the north door.

A few church members met at the Food Bank at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday the 12th to store the frozen food and clean the place. Thanks guys.

Remember to keep Andrew Kothmann in your prayers. He really enjoys the cards and calls; keep them coming. Prayers were also requested for Bill Willis, Mr. Cole and my great grandson Noah. The tumor was benign and he is doing well. He will be missing school for two weeks and he is happy about that. I do have difficulty hearing all of the prayer requests in church. If you want to have your request in the paper, write a short note and give it to me after church. Thanks.

It was good to have Mark and Barbara Krause back with us. Matt is happy and finally in school in Chicago.

Rev Krause used the scripture from John 17:6-23 for his sermon titled "One Day at a Time Faith".

What can you do to make the world better? Spend every day with God. Surrender your will to Him and let Him change you. And if others around you are depending on Him, pray that they may be changed.

Everything comes from God. "Everything that My father has is mine; this is the reason why I told you that He will take of My own and show it to you" (verse15). Jesus prayed this prayer for the disciples and all believers. Pray that we become one with the Father, one with Jesus Christ. We should become partners with God, a team working to make life better for those around us.

Be thankful for what God has done for you. By helping others, they will become stronger and want to help in the work. There will be good days and there will be bad days. The disciples had followed Jesus one day at a time. Jesus showed them the way. Jesus will show you the way. The glory of Jesus will shine on everyone around you.

Every day is a special day. Spend it with God. Praise Him and the Holy Spirit will be with you. Ask the Lord "What do You have for me to do today"? Follow where He leads.

Commit to work with God. He is ready to be with us to love and guide us and give us strength for life. Make that commitment every day of your life.

Thank God for His infinite love, for the path He is leading you on. He is with us every day. Give Him the honor, the glory and the praise.
