Sub-Regional Planning Commission meets with Texas Parks and Wildlife Representatives
Wednesday, January 20, 2010 • Posted January 20, 2010

On Jan. 12th, the Mason Sub-Regional Planning Commission met with Texas Parks and Wildlife Representatives to coordinate with TPWD’s possible recommendations for environmental studies required for power line construction.

Associate members of the sub-regional planning commission submitted testimony emphasizing Mason County’s unique geological, biological and historical resources that legally trigger the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requiring a full environmental impact statement (EIS). Other associates of the commission emphasized the legal aspects that activate a full EIS and requested TPWD to help the commission by joining them to demand LCRA perform the proper EIS for the Mason region.
