Ruby Elizabeth Ross

Ruby Elizabeth Ross, age 85 of Llano, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2010, in Llano, Texas.

She was born on August 26, 1924, in Van Zandt County, Texas, to Lonnie Ellison Robertson and Rosie Irene (Plaster) Robertson. Ruby had been a resident of Llano most of her life.

In 1946, she married Elry Ross. She had owned two cafés in Llano, "Diner" and "S Bar" for many years. Ruby also worked as nurse,s aide and house keeper. She was a devoted member of the First Christian Church in Llano and a member of the Christian Womens Fellowship at the Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Elry in 1996, as well as four brothers.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Joyce Scott and her husband Bill of Llano, a son, Kenneth (Sonny) Ross and his wife Abbie of Mason, one sister, Vivian Moore of Santa Anna, California, three Grandchildren, Terry Scott, Melissa Seward, and Christie Scott, two great grandchildren, Joseph and Holden Seward, and a great great granddaughter, Brylee. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. in the Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Chapel in Llano with Rev. Jim McCurdy officiating. Burial followed at the Llano City Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers were Tommy Duncan, Randy Scott, Gary Reed, Kirk Winfrey, Bode Barker, and Rod Decker.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Christian Church in Llano.
