Dear Gerry,

In December I had the privilege of being a sponsor for the Elementary District UIL Meet for 1st through 5th grades in Medina.

For the second year in a row when we walked in, people began complimenting our students on their dress. They did look exceptionally nice! These students were all prompt to their events, and they were very respectful of the other students and adults throughout the day.

Their school pride was evident when they competed as Mason won first place in the competition! But even more impressive was their behavior on the way home. We stopped at a restaurant in Kerrville to eat, and two different groups of people came up to us and said that they didn’t know where we were from but this was the best behaved group of children they had ever seen! Wow!

I want to applaud the parents of these students as that respect and pride begins at home. In addition, the UIL coaches did a fantastic job preparing the students to compete in these important events. These students represented Mason extremely well, and we should all be proud of these wonderful young people.
