Rev. Krause preached on "Love, Obey, and Serve!" He read the scripture from Jeremiah 1:4-10 which describes God’s relationship with Jeremiah from before he was born and for the rest of his life.

The Holy Spirit is used by God to make us love God and serve others because of God’s love. The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah in the womb and separated him and appointed him as a prophet to the nations. The Holy Spirit speaks to us in the same way. We then begin to speak this in our hearts and then in our minds. God has set us apart to do His work. The more time we spend in communication with the Lord, the more time we spend listening to the Lord, the easier it is to hear the Holy Spirit. The scripture shows Jeremiah’s love, service and obedience to God. God also called Jeremiah to be a great prophet. Jeremiah truly loved the Lord. God made him a true, strong servant.

Jeremiah was an obedient servant, listening to the Holy Spirit speak to his heart, telling him what to do. God gave him the ability to hear and speak for the Lord.

We are all called by the Holy Spirit to be ministers of the Gospel to the people, doing what is necessary in our world to help others. We are called to love and obey God.

Spend time each day in prayer, listening to the Holy Spirit. Be obedient to the voice of God. Go and serve others. Share the Holy Spirit with others. Look to Jesus as your example when serving others.

"For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome."

Jeremiah 29:11
