Critter Getters Benefit Calling Contest February 20th & 21st
Wednesday, February 10, 2010 • Posted February 10, 2010

It is once again time for the annual Critter Getters calling contest. This year's event is scheduled for the weekend of February 20th and 21st.

The contest, which benefits local charities and individuals, also helps control the local predator population, as the hunters seek out coyotes, bobcats, hogs and other "critters." The entry fee is $15 per person, with a four-member team maximum. Hunters are allowed to hunt in Mason and all adjoining counties, and all Texas laws must be observed.

This year, there will again be jackpots for the most raccoons, the most hogs, and for the heaviest bobcat.

Check in time will be on Saturday, February 20th, 11:00 a.m. till 12:30 p.m., behind the Mason Dairy Queen, and all team members must be present. Final check in will be on Sunday, February 21st, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., also behind the Dairy Queen. All kills must have occurred during the contest time only.
