From The Librarian’s Shelf

After being closed for the month of January (plus one week) the library renovations are finished and the library is back open. With a fresh coat of paint and new carpet the library looks warm and inviting and we certainly hope you will enjoy it. So many people helped to make this big project possible.

Thank you to the Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library Board and the Mason County Commissioners and Judge for their support and encouragement. A special thank you to Julie Harrison, President of the Library Board, for organizing the project and coordinating the comings and goings of all the crews. That’s no simple job!

The County of Mason, Friends of the Library, Mason Study Club, and patrons of the library funded the project. The Mason ISD High School was gracious to allow the Mason County library patrons to use the school library’s computers every weekday afternoon after school.

Many volunteers gave generously of their time to get the library back in shape including Mary Scholibo, Nancy Scholibo, Jean Dudney, Carol Stuart, Julie Harrison, Carmen Griffith, Beth Reardon, Mary Freytag, Linda Laury, Bob Laury, Beverly Fox and Rene Schulze. The members of the Historical Commission worked very hard to move all the archival materials out of and back into the Archive Room.

Story Time will start again on Friday, February 19.
