Ron Williams Headlines Mason Country Opry

The Mason Country Opry will feature Ron Williams on Tuesday, February 23 at the Odeon Theater in downtown Mason. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. and admission is $10.00 per person. Tickets will be on sale at the door the night of the performance.

Ron Williams was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and was exposed to Country Music from a very early age. His parents Leona and Ron Williams Sr. were both in the music business when Ron was born , and as he puts it " I was so immersed in music, all around me really, that I knew I would "step in it" somewhere", he says jokingly.

Both parents toured all of Ron’s young life with artists from Ernest Tubb to Loretta Lynn.

"I’ve even seen pictures of me when I was a child, sleeping in a guitar case next to the stage" Williams said. Many say that is where he began his road to becoming one of the music industries premier traditional country music singers. When you listen to his music, you’ll understand why he is regarded as one of the best new country talents by both music critics and industry professionals.

Williams has dedicated years of hard work, being employed as a staff songwriter to singing hundreds of demos have started to pay off. Williams has performed on shows featuring other recording artists such as Gene Watson, Marty Stewart, Mel Tillis, Travis Tritt, Vern Gosdin, Mandy Barnett, Sammy Kershaw, Clinton Gregory, Lori Morgan, Mandy Barnett and many others.

After signing with Black Patch Records, Ron released his first album "Natural Thing" in 2004, to rave reviews. His first single "I’m Tired of Being Something That Means Nothing To You" garnered enough radio play to allow him to headline several fairs and festivals throughout the country.

In 2007, Williams recorded "Texas Style" on Heart of Texas Records. That project achieved substantial airplay on Traditional Country Music radio and especially on Willie’s Place on Sirius/XM Radio.

Ron’s latest project has just been released on Ah-Ha Records and is titled "The Longer You're Gone."

"It’s full of great songs from writers like Bill Anderson, Becky Hobbs, Dave Lyndsey, Harley Allen, Larry Schell and others. I’ve got to say, this CD is my favorite one to date." Ron currently resides in Vienna, Missouri, with his wife Amy and daughters Lexie and Olivia.

"It’s been my greatest honor to work with legends of the Grand Ole Opry including Ferlin Husky, Charlie Louvin, Margo Smith, Jean Shepard, Stonewall Jackson, Barbara Fairchild, Billie Walker, Jan Howard, Jett Williams, Jim Ed Brown, Helen Cornelius, Pretty Miss Norma Jean, Claude Gray, Jeannie Sealy, Wanda Jackson, Freddie Hart and Bill Anderson" Williams said. "They are the heart and soul of country music and we should value them as such".

"We are so excited to have Ron up for this exciting show," MC Tracy Pitcox said. "Ron is gaining a large following in the area as well and is one of the finest country music singers in the business. We are looking forward to his return and he might even bring a surprise special guest with him."

Other entertainers on the show will include Jeff Woolsey, Mary Simon, Justin Trevino, Charley Walton, Shane Lively, Benny Fred Kothmann and Sammy Geistweidt. Tracy Pitcox will MC the show.
