145 Area Residents Attend Mother/Daughter Seminar
Wednesday, February 17, 2010 • Posted February 17, 2010

Seventy moms and 75 daughters from around the region converged on Fredericksburg Elementary School Feb. 2 for Hill Country Memorial Hospital’s tenth annual "Girl Talk" seminar led by Jennifer Woerner Dulaney, M.D.

The free seminar is designed as an educational session on feminine hygiene to facilitate closer mother/daughter relationships. This year, audience members came from Blanco, Comfort, Cypress Mill, Fredericksburg, Harper, Ingram, Johnson City, Kerrville, Mason, Stonewall and Willow City.

Discussion topics included anatomy, hormones, hygiene and changes that come with girls growing older. During an open forum at the end of the presentation, Dr. Dulaney answered questions from the audience for approximately 40 minutes.

Michael R. Williams, M.D., Hill Country Memorial chief executive officer, said partnerships among physicians, schools and the hospital bring value for the community as a whole. "It is our pleasure to work with our outstanding medical staff to facilitate health-related events such as this seminar for young women," he said, "and our local school system is always willing to help us and the communities we serve. We really appreciate that."
