The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, February 23rd, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 39 members and 7 visitors in attendance. Among the visitors were 2 Mason High School Seniors, Morgan Pilcher and Dakota Wawrzyniak.

Lion Mark Lehmberg was responsible for the program and introduced Vondell Jordan, Pam Kruse and Janet Schmidt. Vondell spoke about a Reading Program being used at Mason's Elementary School, called Primetime-A Positive Approach To R.T.I. Vondell told how this program was started, how it is taught, and the outstanding results they are having with the students involved. This program is used in grades K-4th. The students and the teachers all seem to really like this program.

The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, March 2nd, at noon at Zavala's. The program will be the monthly business meeting.

The Mason Lions Club has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
