Lizzie Marie Priess

Lizzie Marie Henrich Priess of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on February 11, 2010 at Lea Regional Medical Center at the age of 83.

She was born October 1, 1926, in Mason to Clarence and Lizzie Henrich. She grew up in Mason, Texas, graduating from High School.

She married Robert Priess, Jr. on January 1, 1944, in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason, Texas. They were married 66 years.

She had been employed with GTE for 35 years, until her retirement.

She was a good Christian lady, working in her church and caring for others. She was a member of Christian Center Church.

She enjoyed cooking and had several hobbies.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Priess, Jr. of Hobbs; one grandson, Kevin Ousley of Hobbs; two grand daughters, Kim Lara of Ft. Worth, Texas and Kay Willett of Lovington, New Mexico; several great grandchildren; and two special friends, Janice Stewart of Hobbs, N.M. and Murrell Coats of Hobbs, N.M. Other survivors are her sister-in-laws, Cora Leifeste, Hertha Priess, and Frances Priess; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Priess and a daughter, Patricia Priess.

Burial services were in care of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, on February 16, 2010.

Pastor Jotty Kinney will officiate. Burial will follow after services at Prairie Haven Memorial Park in Hobbs, New Mexico.
