Members and guests of the Mason Bluebonnet Study Club were beautifully entertained on Monday afternoon, March 15, by four of Mason ISD’s band members. Three handsome young men and a beautiful young lady represented their school and their 214 member band program with dignity and polish as they performed for the group.

Director Pat Ruiz introduced each performer. First to play was James Perlicheck. He played "March of the Merry Men" on tenor sax. Next to play was Drigo Martinez performing "Ruby" on the euphoniun. Katherine Koock’s clarinet took the floor and filled the room with beautiful melody. Last on the program was Andrew Willis playing a sonata on his alto sax. Each performance drew enthusiastic applause from the audience. Dr. Adam Estes, also a director, handled the accompanying music on tape for each performance. Several in attendance were heard to remark that Mason can be very proud of its outstanding band program and its wels behaved young musicians.

Mason Junior High principal Clint Askins attended the program and observed from the back of the room with a proud expression on his face.

Others attending were Betty Kelso, Jutta Dreyer, Mary Ellen Merkel, Edna Earle Benton, Tonya Lamoreaux, Louise Lange, Brinda Pape, Betty Meyer, and Tommie Luckenbach. Hostess for the meeting was Mary Ellen Merkel.
