Bringing in the sheaves,

Bringing in the sheaves.

We shall come rejoicing,

Bringing in the sheaves.

One of the most popular hymns for Protestant Christians.

Inspired by Psalm 126:6.

Written in 1874.

With a wide range of renditions.

From Frank Zappa to characters on "The Simpsons" to Granny on "Beverly Hillbillies."

We shall come rejoicing,

Bringing in the sheaves.

And the coastal hay.

And the wash off the line.

And calling up the cows.

Rejoice, rejoice.

As we bring anything to fruition.

A detailed report.

A completed inventory.

Another edition of The Mason County News.

We shall come rejoicing.

A satisfied customer.

A delicious meal.

Another successful bottling at Sandstone Cellars Winery.

A flat tire fixed.

A broken arm set.

A vehicle repaired.

Bringing in the sheaves.

Miracle of miracles.

The winding of the clock.

The organ playing.

Weeding and hoeing.

Planting a garden.

Finishing a book.

Baking a cake.

We shall come rejoicing.

Birds at the feeder.

And in the birdbath.

Flitting in and out of the birdhouses.

Bringing in the sheaves.

The sun rises with promise.

And sets with aplomb.

Regardless if we notice.

A grand hymn indeed.

Though absolutely silent.

With absolute majesty.

Bringing day to fruition.

Then stars sally forth.

A nightgown sky.

We shall sleep rejoicing.

Bringing in the dreams.

That’s Mason.
