I hope that the cold and windy days are over. Maybe the March winds will be gone by Easter. I am ready for warm Spring days and growing grass. Let the sun shine on everyone.

Brenda Kothmann is celebrating her birthday today, March 24th. And Sam Hoerster III will celebrate his birthday on March 29th. I hope that you both have a great day!

Be sure to keep Pearl Leifeste, Andrew Kothmann, Etta Marie Mutschink, Anna Grace Durst and Willeda Rea in your daily prayers. Pray for healing for Jane Krause and Ella Reynolds.

My daughter, Lisa Howard, and I spent the weekend attending my 55th anniversary of graduating from Texas A&M University. Our class was also inducted into the Sul Ross Group which includes all of the graduates that were living more than 55 years after graduation.

It was great to get back to the campus and see friends that spent four years together and then each one went their separate way. We had plenty of time to see the many changes in the school. We heard from the new defensive coach, from the president of the Senior Class and from the Corps Commander. The one thing we did not see was all of the student body since it was Spring Break time and everything was very quiet.

As we approach Easter, we need to remember the events that have made this event the fulfillment of God’s mission. It all began with the birth of Jesus. Mary’s joy and happiness are written in Mark 1:46-55.

And Mary said, My soul magnifies and extols the Lord.

And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior

For He has looked upon the low station and humiliation

of His Handmaiden.

For behold. From now on all generations will call me

blessed and declare me happy and to be envied!

For He Who is almighty has done great things for me and

holy is His name!

And His mercy is on those who fear Him with godly reverence,

from generation to generation and age to age.

He has shown strength and made right with His arm,

He has scattered the proud and haughty in and by the imagination

and purpose and designs of their hearts.

He has put down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those

of low degree.

He had filled and satisfied the hungry with good things,

and the rich He has sent away empty handed.

He has laid hold of His servant Israel in remembrance of

His mercy,

Even as He promised to our forefathers, to Abraham,

and to His descendants, forever.
