AROUND THE SQUARE
Wednesday, March 31, 2010 • Posted March 31, 2010

Spring.

Sunny and breezy.

Then rain.

Then blue sky.

White clouds.

Cold mornings.

Warm days.

Bluebonnets.

Scissor-tailed Flycatcher.

Spring.

Rebirth.

Resurrection.

All things new.

New green on the grass.

New leaves on the tree.

New life in the pasture.

New businesses in town.

Such as PJ’s.

Fixin’ to open on the square any day now.

Next door to Currey’s Fabrics.

And The Mason Artisan Gallery just opened north of the square.

Cherokee Rose occupies the historic little rock building just up the road.

Next door to Capital Farm Credit.

Selling antiques, books, and collectibles.

Near The Thing Is.

And Off the Square Hair Company.

Other businesses are busy preparing.

Party equipment rental.

Dog grooming.

And then there’s personal services.

Carolyn Karner does pet-sitting and house-sitting.

Pam Scott is a Travel Consultant.

Sue Raye offers "Sew It Sue" expert alterations and just about every other sewing need a person could want.

And Kathryn Martin comes to the rescue where computers are concerned with Hedwigs Hill Solutions.

Busy, busy, busy.

To everything, turn turn turn…

‘Tis the season for nesting.

And general all-around spring cleaning.

Mowing.

Weed-eating.

Trimming.

Clearing.

Burning.

And painting.

Steve Bjork, Rollie Morgan, and the Beams know all about that.

April showers bring May flowers.

The days grow longer.

And so does the list.

That’s Mason.

Renee Walker is an author, poet, and real estate broker on the square.
