Five inches.

In one day.

Two more topping it off the next day.

Great and glorious.

Let it fall where it may.

Rain.

We’ll take it.

The river is rising…

(said W.C. Fields when his leaky boat sinks).

So, too, the low-water crossing.

Rise up, rise up.

Goodbye, water gaps.

Get out the ark.

What a storm.

What a week.

Wet wet wet.

Mud.

Potholes.

Bar ditch overflowing.

Washed out roads.

Full-up tanks.

Flooded fields.

Puddled pastures.

Ponds we never had before.

Slippery slopes we never slid on before.

Oak pollen stuck to itself.

And watch that clover.

Thinks it’s king.

Choking out the wildflowers.

Running amok.

Everything green going goofy.

Every mesquite leafed out.

No turning back now.

It’s official.

It’s Spring.

It’s cold.

It’s hot.

It’s cloudy.

It’s sunny.

It’s windy.

It’s not.

Go wash the mud off your vehicle.

It’ll rain, for sure.

That’s Mason.
