Henry Fonda Carson

Henry Carson passed on to be with Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 21, at the age of 65. Henry was born on November 25, 1944, in Barnhart, Texas, to J.D. Carson and Myrtle Giles. He grew up in Big Lake and Odessa, Texas.

Henry was preceded in death by his father J.D. Carson, mother Myrtle Tachell and two sisters, Winnie Lou Walker and Cora Fern Gains. He is survived by his wife , Shirlene Carson of Mason, two brothers Ted Carson and wife Karen of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, and Roy Watson of Odessa, Texas, three step-children, Larry Hoelscher and wife Mandy of Brady, Texas, Gary Hoelscher and wife Sara of Farmersville, Texas, and Jerry Hoelscher of Commerce, Texas, two children Jason Carson and Kristy Carson both from New Mexico, six grandchildren Ricky Hoelscher currently serving the U.S.A. in Iraq, Heath Hoelscher, Jessica Hoelscher, Luke Hoelscher, Ella Hoelscher and Kit Carson.

Henry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Henry enjoyed his calling and did so until he was no longer able to do so. He worked in Satellite receivers for many years. He enjoyed meeting people and getting to know them. There was not just a service call, he believed that if you were going to do it, do it right. He enjoyed the scenery around Mason County and the Hill Country. Henry raised goats and enjoyed his vegetable gardening.

Services were held on Saturday, April 24, at Mason Funeral Home with Brian Smith presiding and Dan Powell conducting. Interment followed in Pontotoc Cemetery. Visitation with the family was Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend thanks to the doctors for the care they gave, the nurses at Country Home Health for their care, neighbors who helped in times of need, and friends who came to visit and brighten the days. Any memorials made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in his memory will always be appreciated.
