Sunday was a beautiful day, and after the rain on Friday, everything was bright and clean. Other flowers are beginning to replace the Bluebonnets and the red and yellow and pink ones are really great. It’s a great time to look around at the world and thank God for this country we live in.

Remember Mark Krause’s birthday on April 30th. And Hadden Hudson will celebrate his birthday on May 3rd. Have a really special day.

The National Day of Prayer will be observed on the Courthouse lawn at 10:00 AM on Saturday May 1st. Join your friends and relatives for this special event.

Continue to pray for Pastor Mark’s mother Jane while she battles the pain in her back. Nea Young reported that her brother RA is now cancer free and doing well. Continue to pray for Andrew Kothmann, Anna Grace Durst and Pearl Leifeste.

We thank Lori Slocum for playing the organ and Nancy Jordan for her beautiful piano music.

And it was good to see Bob and Joanne Davee visiting in church.

Rev. Krause read the scripture from Acts 9:36-43 and preached about "True Disciple". There was a woman in Joppa named Tabitha who was a disciple, abounding in good deeds and acts of charity. She became sick and died and was cleaned and laid in an upper room.

Peter was in Lydia, 10 miles from Joppa. Two men were sent to bring Peter to Joppa without delay. Peter immediately went to Joppa and was taken to the upper room. The room was full of widows who were crying and displaying garments that Tabitha had made for them.

Peter put them out of the room and knelt down and prayed. He said: "Tabitha, get up" and she opened her eyes and with Peter’s help, she sat upright. Peter gave her his hand and lifted her up. Calling God’s people and the widows into the room, he presented her to them alive.

This became known throughout all Joppa and many came to believe on the Lord and to adhere to and trust in and rely on Him as the Christ and as their Savior. Peter remained in Joppa for a considerable time.

A true disciple is someone who helps others in time of need. Tabitha was such a true disciple. She made a difference in others lives by using her great love of God. She used her talents to make clothing for the widows of Joppa.

A disciple has the true love of God in their heart and a love for other people. They serve God and other people and they share God with everyone. The Holy Spirit works within us when we are a true disciple of God. In all things, He is number one. Nothing less will do.

Do you truly love all of God’s children? Do you serve God no matter what it takes? It takes prayer and studying the Word of God. Seek Him with your whole heart. Seek Him intensely and be obedient to His will. Be willing to go wherever He sends you, using the gifts His has given to you.

Share God with your neighbors; seek those that do not know Jesus. Meet and greet people where they live and work.

Pray and ask God to use you in His work. When the Holy Spirit fills your heart, you will live, act and love as Jesus did.
