The Mason County M. Beven Eckert Memorial Library is searching for a way to furnish free e-books to its patrons that is not cost prohibitive to the library. Until that is possible here are some alternatives.

www.projectgutenberg.org offers free access to books that are out of copyright so this is a great place for classics.

Reference and nonfiction books can be found through NetLibrary on the Texas State Library and Archives TexShare database website. This is a service to Texas residents so a special userid and password are required. Come by the library at 410 Post Hill or call 325-347-5446 to get the website and logon information.

The Tom Green County Public Library in San Angelo, TX has an extensive e-book collection available to library card holders of that library. Any Texas resident may obtain a free library card from them. They are located at 113 West Beauregard in San Angelo. Their business hours are M-TH 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, F 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
