District 7 4-H Livestock Judging Contest

The District 7 4-H Livestock Judging Contest was held in San Angelo on April 21, 2010. The Mason 4-H Club had four teams competing.

Mason’s Junior team consisted of Grace Chapman, Jackson Chapman, Ryli Ruffin and Sarah Williams. Their results follows:

Grace Chapman - 6th Place Beef/5th Place Sheep

Jackson Chapman - 10th Place Overall/10th Place Beef

Sarah Williams - 3rd Place Sheep

Junior Team results: Out of 19 teams

2nd High Team Overall

1st Team Sheep/Goats

2nd Team Beef

5th Team Swine

We had two Intermediate teams judging this year. The 4-Hers that make up these teams are as follows:

#1 Intermediate

Kirsten Allen - 10th Place Beef

Sierra Martin - 9th Place High Individual Overall

Price Ruffin - 1st Place Swine/4th High Individual Overall

Coby Velez - 3rd Place Beef

Team results:

1st High Team Overall with 1215 points out of 26 teams.

2nd Team Beef

5th Team Sheep/Goats

5th Team Swine

#2 Intermediate

Riley Pape

Heather Shaw

14th High Team Overall

Mason had one Senior teams consisting of the following:

Gabe Jennings - 7th Beef

Chama Martin - 2nd Overall Individual/1st Place Sheep/1st Place Swine/1st Place Oral Reasons

Rio Schmidt

Jeffrey Burton - 7th Place Sheep/10th Place Oral Reasons

Team results out of 12 teams:

6th Place High Team Overall

6th Beef Team

2nd Sheep Team

5th Swine Team

3rd Oral Reasons

Chama Martin qualifies to advance to State 4-H Roundup on June 7-11, 2010 in College Station.
