Linda Kirkpatrick, talented cowboy poet from Leaky, TX will be one of the speakers at the MAY EVENT sponsored by the San Saba Co. Extension Education Clubs. Wednesday, May 12th.
Growing up on a large isolated ranch near Leaky, Texas and later managing a 2000 acre cow/calf & white tail deer operation provided Linda with plenty of material for her poetry.
She has performed at many Cowboy events across the west including the National Cowboy Gathering at Elko, Nevada and the National Cowboy Symposium in Lubbock. She has won numerous awards for her work including a Best of the Best winner at a Cowboy Poetry Rodeo.
Linda also performs in a group called "The Cowboy Sunset Serenade," along with Frank Roberts and Joe Wells who do programs about the history of the cowboy, the west, and women of the west.
Some of Linda’s stories and poems can be found in her book Somewhere in the West, or her CD Beneath a Western Sky, which was nominated for Poetry CD of the year with the Academy of Western Artists. She writes a monthly column entitled Somewhere in the West, in Texas Escapes(www.texasescapes.com) which concentrates on the rich history of the Texas Hill Country and has also been featured in other publications and on the radio.

Cathy who writes the "Notes from the Spring Creek Arts Guild" column for the San Saba News & Star will speak about "Finding Inspiration".
