The Riata Service Organization is announcing plans to compile and publish yet another, Number Five, to be exact, cookbook. Cookbook Number Four, Mason County Sampler, is sold out, with the exception of a few copies that are currently on the shelves at a number of retail stores, mainly in the Mason area. No books are available from the club.

The new cookbook will feature favorite recipes from all four previous books and also a section of new and different recipes which are not in any of the previous books. The citizens of Mason County and those who have tried some of the best and most favorite recipes will have this opportunity to help make the selection of old recipes to be considered for the forthcoming book.

The special occasion of this new cookbook will be to celebrate sixty years (1950 to 2010) of Riata women in service in Mason County. The income from the sale of the books will continue to be invested back into projects for the community. In the past, some of these projects have been the volunteer fire department, EMS, special needs at the Mason Clinic, the public swimming pool, Heritage Park and numberous other projects with which many local citizens are familiar.

To those who would like to make suggestions for favorite recipes from any or all of the four cookbooks, fill in the form below with the very specific details. Your ideas will be taken seriously. Send as many suggestions as you wish, with regards to having been tested, tried, and true!

New recipes will also be accepted for consideration from the public. When submitting a recipe, please follow as closely as possible the format which is used in the Mason County Sampler book. If perhaps one does not have a copy of the book, may we suggest borrowing one from a friend or relative who might. The membership of Riata will be very anxious to receive any and all suggestions for recipes, old or new.

In order to compile the book in a timely fashion, a deadline of May 31st has been set for submitting your suggestions. Recipes, new or old, may be given to any Riata member (new or old) or mailed to P. O. Box 506, Mason 76856. For those who have computers, the recipes may be sent to the Riata yahoo account at: (the password being: rso76856).
