Aaron Jennings Recipient of Senior Merit Award

Aaron Jennings, a senior animal science major at Texas A & M University, received the Senior Merit Award from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences on April 17 at the College’s Spring Awards Convocation. Based on leadership, scholarship and service at the department, college and university level, the Senior Merit Award is the highest award given to undergraduates by the College.

Aaron has served as the vice president of finance for the COALS Student Council, was selected as a member of the All-American livestock judging team, judged on both the livestock and wool teams, and assisted in coaching the TAMU wool team. Aaron was a member of the Saddle and Sirloin Club and was named a President’s Endowed Scholarship recipient. For the past two semesters, he served as a sales and research intern for Elanco Animal Health of Greenfield, IN. Jennings will graduate Magna Cum Laude on May 14, 2010, with a major in animal sciences and a minor in business. He plans to pursue a master’s degree and a doctorate in meat and muscle biology.

Aaron is the son of Gary and Karen Jennings of Fredonia.
