The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, May 4th, for its monthly business meeting. There were 36 members and no visitors in attendance.

"Boss Lion" Chris Dyer was responsible for the program and Sec./Tres. Gene Gammill read the minutes and gave the financial report. Gene reported that the Hamburger Lunch made $ 1,000.00, which was just enough to fund the 2-$500.00 scholarships the club gives to two graduating Seniors. Thanks to all who supported the Hamburger Lunch.

Gene gave his views and comments about why he felt that this was not a good time to sale the property at the Scout Hut.

It was decided that this would be put to a secret ballot vote by the club, meeting adjourned at 12:45.

The Mop and Broom Sale will be Wednesday, June 2nd, at the Church of Christ parking lot.

The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, May 11th, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Charles Pluenneke.

The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
