Mason, TX. May 17, 2010 – The first Tea Party meeting in Mason will take place on Wednesday, May 26, 6pm. The meeting will be held at Old Peanut Mill Steakhouse, 1100 Ft. McKavitt in Mason.
This month’s guest speaker is the Fredericksburg Tea Party steering committee, who will discuss the Tea Party mission, voter education and citizen activism. "Many voters are concerned with the unprecedented national debt and new government programs that are very unpopular with the majority of the American people. The Tea Party provides a positive approach to educate and activate citizens in order to return our country to fiscal responsibility and limited government as defined by the U.S. Constitution," said Angela Smith of the Fredericksburg Tea Party steering committee.
"We are excited to see so many Mason residents getting involved. It is unprecedented to see so many citizens who had never before been involved in politics, become active in voter education and contacting their elected officials," continued Smith.
The Tea Party is non-partisan and does not endorse any political party or candidate. The mission is to educate voters and to encourage the return of the government to the ideals of the Founders as defined in the Constitution. We welcome all individuals with these concerns, regardless of their party affiliation.
