Harold Ray Buntyn

Harold Ray Buntyn, of Fredonia, passed away on Saturday, May 15, at the age of 79. He is survived by two sons, Jesse Jackson of Round Rock and Richard Jackson, and wife Linda, of Tow; and daughter, Kathleen Calarco of Round Rock, as well as 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Donnell Caples Buntyn in September 2009.

Harold was born to William Buntyn and Maude Brown Buntyn in Mason County, on December 4, 1930. Harold met Donnell Caples in Beaumont and they married in Houston on November 1, 1963. The couple moved to Brady and then later, back to Fredonia. Harold was a self-employed custom cabinet builder and carpenter. He enjoyed ranching and liked to hunt and fish. Harold also enjoyed watching old westerns and the History Channel. He was very talented and enjoyed building things from scratch, including doll furniture for his daughter. Harold will be remembered as being strong-willed and stern, but very tenderhearted.

Funeral services for Harold Ray Buntyn will be held on Thursday, May 20, at 11:00 a.m. in the Mason Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in the Wagram Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home.
