The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, May 11th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 33 members and 4 visitors in attendance.

Lion Charles Pluenneke was responsible for the program and introduced Don Daniels who ran the slide projector for him. Charles spoke about his trip to Israel in 2005. Charles and Don showed slides of the places Charles and Barbara visited and Charles gave some brief information about each. These pictures ranged from beautiful farmland to rugged desert and from Biblical to modern buildings and structures. This was a very interesting program. Thanks, Charles.

Eva Tannehill was on hand to help get the 5K/10K Walk-Run Committees formed and duties assigned after adjournment.

The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, May 18th, at noon at Zavala's. The program chairman will be Charlie Reichenau.

The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
