Fine Arts Assoc. of the Hill Country Awards Eloy Rico Scholarship
Wednesday, May 26, 2010 • Posted May 26, 2010

Eloy Rico was selected by the FAAHC’s Education Committee to receive their $1,000.00 scholarship for 2010. This is the second year that the group has presented their award to a deserving student selected from their four county membership area of Kimble, Mason, McCulloch and Menard.

Mr. Rico has been very active with his community volunteer work and he encouraged everyone attending Mason’s athletic events to show their school spirit as he was Puncher Pete, the school’s mascot! Hard work in his classroom efforts was rewarded when he advanced to state and received a medal in the Visual Art Scholastic event at the University of Houston/Clear Lake last month.

Eloy stated in his "Thank You" note to the Association that the scholarship "will help me to reach my goal of graduating from Schreiner University with a degree in Graphic Design. It is wonderful to be able to grow up in a small town where so many people are willing to support us."

Best wishes to Mr. Eloy Rico. We congratulate you for being an award winning product of the Mason community.
