Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in each congressional district.

An Artistic Discovery

This year two Mason High School art students placed in the 11th District Art Competition held at Texas Tech University at Highland Lakes (Marble Falls). Freshman Abby Nash placed 4th and senior Eloy Rico received an Honorable Mention. The winner, from Goldthwaite High School, will receive airfare and hotel for two to attend the opening reception of the national exhibition in Washington, D.C.
