After the storm.

Calm.

After the day.

Night sky.

Cobalt blue.

Dense as velvet.

Embellished with sterling silver stars.

And adorned with a moon brooch.

Full and round.

White porcelain.

Pinned just so on the left lapel.

Elegant.

Aristocratic.

Glorious glory.

The sky.

It belongs to no one.

And to everyone.

There for the taking.

And gazing.

Just look up.

Free of charge.

Yet worth millions.

Infinite.

Brilliant.

Breathtaking to behold.

Life wouldn’t be the same without it.

Imagine no sky.

No clouds.

No stars.

No moon or sun.

No gray, white, or blue.

And never again another rainbow.

Imagine.

Just flat blankness.

Without geese in V-formation.

Soaring eagles and hawks.

Jets and airplanes.

Rain and wind.

Thunder and lightning.

The sky.

Goes on forever and ever.

As far as the eye can see.

Our beloved ceiling.

Look up and you’ll see.

World without end.

Amen.

That’s Mason.
