Summer is here and it’s time to look for some shade. We enjoyed the rain last week and the flowers and fields are looking great. Thank God for all that He has done for you.
Happy birthday wishes go to Wyatt Burdette on June 4th, to Bill Cotter on June 5th, to Brian Fuqua on June 7th and to Sterling Jordan on June 8th. And Kenneth and Brenda Kothmann will celebrate their 41st anniversary on June 7th. Have a great time on your special day.
Our concern this week regards the possible environmental affects of the oil that continues to flow after many tries to stop this disaster. This oil may cause many problems in the years to come. Pray that they can successfully cap the pipe and clean up the oil on the beaches and in the sea.
Prayers were requested for Carolyn Vater’s cousins Danielle and Marcy while they battle cancer. Kathy Jordan is home after her knee replacement. Pray for her and Wayne during her healing and therapy. Continue to pray for Andrew Kothmann, Jane Krause, Anna Grace Durst, Pearl Leifeste and Etta Marie Mutschink.
Rev. Krause’s Trinity Sunday Sermon was titled "Getting It Right". The scripture was from Romans 5:1-11.
Paul writes that we are justified (made right, declared righteous) and given a right standing with God through faith. Let us grasp the fact that we have the peace of reconciliation to hold and enjoy with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah. It is hard to believe that The Lord has removed our sin from us leaving us as if we had never sinned at all. He will remember them no more. We are righteous in God’s sight. God gives us back our righteousness after we sin. Matthew 6:33 reminds us to seek first of all His kingdom and His righteousness then all things will be given to you. Make the choice to believe that God will remove completely all of your sins. Do not worry about tomorrow. Take life one day at a time.
Romans 3:27-28 explains that God Himself is righteous and He justifies and accepts as righteous him who has true faith in Jesus. A man is justified and made upright by faith. Good deeds and works have nothing to do with justification.
Our faith requires us to obey God. Be a slave to obedience, putting your trust in God. Live according to God. Our sins separate us from God. Live by the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Christ had built a bridge over the sea that separates us from the unrighteous.
Don’t run from God. God will give you unlimited grace. Jesus Christ died to pay for our debt. He suffered for us. He can do all things if we call on the Holy Spirit to help us when we stumble. And God will make us clean.
