Jennings Attending Junction Workshop
Wednesday, June 9, 2010 • Posted June 9, 2010

Gabe Jennings will attend the 56th Annual Youth Range Workshop in Junction on June 20. Gabe attended last year and has been invited back this year as a Junior Director. He received the Sam Coleman Award of Excellence at last year’s workshop.

The weeklong workshop is held annually to recognize outstanding Texas youth and to provide them with an opportunity for complimentary training in range and natural resource management, stewardship and leadership.

Gabe will also be attending The Bobwhite Brigade at 74 Ranch in Campbellton on June 27. The Bobwhite Brigade is an outdoor classroom experience for young people who enjoy studying wildlife in general and quail in particular.

Mason County Soil & Water Conservation District is sponsoring Gabe at both of these activities. District funds are available to deserving high school students who are interested in attending these camps and workshops.

Funds are also available to sponsor a Mason County teacher to attend the Ranch Retreat Teachers’ Workshop held in June in Blanco. This workshop provides 16 hours of Professional Continuing Education units in the Science/Social Studies general categories of water quality and quantity, soil and plant studies, wildlife management, natural resources uses, conservation management practices, and Texas agriculture diversity.
