OK.

We give up.

You win.

It’s hot.

You can turn down the heat now.

It’s not even summer.

Not yet.

Not until June 21.

So what’s the deal?

Have mercy on us.

But noooooo.

Not Mother Nature.

Too busy to heed our plea.

She’s out drying wildflowers.

And the grass.

Heating up the soil.

Baking the earth.

Rounding up snakes and skeeters.

And sending those wet weather creeks back where they came from.

If this keeps up, we’ll all be crispy critters by August.

Not a pretty picture.

Nor a pleasant thought.

But it could be worse.

(It can always be worse.)

Keep cool.

And keep your cool.

PJ’s can certainly help you there.

An old-fashioned soda fountain.

With modern-day air conditioning.

And cold drinks.

Not to mention ice cream.

And other goodies.

Hot weather means chill out.

Jump in the river.

Or Mason City Pool.

Stick your head under the faucet.

Or put your feet on ice.

Weber Chevron sells bags of it.

Drink lots of water.

And other things too.

Ice tea.

Beer.

Lemonade.

Wine.

Stay out of the sun.

Wear a hat.

Take a break.

Find some shade.

Sit a spell.

And ruminate.

That’s Mason.
