The Mason Lions Club met Tuesday, June 8th, for its regular weekly luncheon meeting. There were 39 members and 1 visitor in attendance.
Lion Melvin McCollum was responsible for the program and introduced Richard Rose, an Archaeologist, from Midland, Texas who spoke about the Folsom Archaeological Site. Richard showed some slides and showed a display of several arrowheads and different kinds of points he has collected over the years. He gave some historical information on the site and answered questions from the club.
The Mason Lions Club would like to thank everyone that supported the Mop and Broom Sale, and especially the Mason National Bank for their generous donation.
The club's next meeting will be held Tuesday, June 15th, at noon at Zavala's. The program will be Wibby Shearer.
The Mason Lions has an ongoing program to recycle used eyeglasses to people who need them. Used eyeglasses may be given to any Lion or left in collection boxes at any of the local banks. Also, please contact any Mason Lion if you know of anyone in our community unable to afford appropriate eye care.
