Wednesday, June 23, 2010 • Posted June 23, 2010

Being a public servant, John's one interest was the history of Mason County and he had a love for the old school now known as the Historical Building. Thus he was one of the original workers helping to undertake the restoration of the 1896 building when it was in disrepair, leaking and vermin infested. Later, as a Mason County official, he oversaw continuous projects there.

Housed at this place is the Mason County Museum which garnered his generous support in all ways. When he was asked to help, a yes could always be counted on.

Fleming memorabilia as well as his red topped boots stand there for viewing.

John Dalton Fleming was a true friend of the community.
