Fourth of July.

Just around the corner.

This coming Sunday, in fact.

Rain predicted.

Hot and dry and 95 degrees also predicted.

That’s Texas weather for ya.

Probably get both.

All at the same time.

One part of the county will take the hit.

The other will take the heat.

Either way is appropriate for the Fourth.

Thunder-and-lightning fits right in.

Nature’s own fireworks.

Hot-and-dry fits right in.

Celebrate outdoors.

Parades.

Picnics in the shade.

Cold ice tea.

Cold soda.

Cold Kool-Aid.

Cold beer.

Cold wine.

Cold anything.

Hot dogs.

Hamburgers.

Barbecue.

Fried chicken.

Potato salad.

Cole slaw.

Sliced tomatoes.

Pickles.

Olives.

Ice cream.

Cold watermelon.

Cold water.

Jump in the river.

Jump in the pool.

Jump in the pond.

Run through the sprinklers.

Fly the flag.

Light the sparklers.

Stare in wonder.

Fireworks exploding.

Light up the night sky.

On this, our Day of Independence.

Hard won.

Easy to lose.

Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,

O’er the land of the free,

And the home of the brave.

Let freedom ring.

Happy Fourth of July.

That’s Mason.
