On July 10th, immediately following the parade, (which starts at 10am) the race will begin to see who the Great American Jackass winner will be. The 1st place winner will receive $750! This year we will also have a very special contestant. The Chamber held The Best Jack (or Jackette) In Town contest to see who would have the great honor of dressing up in donkey gear and entering the race themselves on foot. The person who received this honor is the one that received the most pledges from their friends and family. The winner is named elsewhere in the newspaper this week! The monies received for the contest will be used to promote the local community.
The Chamber has ordered new t-shirts for Round-Up Rodeo weekend. We will have them for sale for only $10.00 at our Round-Up booth on the Mason Courthouse Square. We will also have Mason County wickless soy candles for $7.50 and donkey ears to amp up the Jackass Race celebration for only $1.00. Come by and see us!
