Adopt a Pet - For Your Health!
Wednesday, July 7, 2010 • Posted July 7, 2010

In addition to all the fun stuff like the parade, rodeo, craft fair, car show, and the not-to-be-missed Jackass Race, Round-Up historically has health screenings, opportunities to sign up for Life-Flight, and other health-oriented booths. This year Barbie McGowan has generously offered to provide, ON HER DAY OFF, another opportunity for the attendees to enrich their lives and take care of their health.

Owning a pet has been scientifically proven to benefit people’s health, from getting you out of the house to lowering your blood pressure, not to mention the therapeutic benefits of a cold nose or warm tongue in your ear. So if you have a little room in your life to help a homeless cat or dog, come to the tent in front of Reigning Cats & Dogs, on the west side of the square (next to the Odeon Theater) between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to meet your new best friend. Puppies, kittens, and some adult dogs will be available for adoption. All animals will be freshly bathed and flea-free, and ready to be the "purr-fect" addition to your household. Additionally, all dogs adopted from the shelter can enroll in any Reigning Cats & Dogs’ future obedience classes at a 25% discount.

If you can’t adopt, you can still "help the homeless." We will be conducting a pet food/supplies drive for the animal shelter. Pet food, bedding, toys, treats, shampoos, or other supplies (including cold hard cash) will be gratefully accepted on behalf of Mason’s needy pets. Come by the orange tent in front of Reigning Cats & Dogs and see the animals available for adoption - for your health!
