Is Anyone Interested In Rabbits?
Wednesday, July 28, 2010 • Posted July 28, 2010

Two 4-H'ers have moved into Mason County and they raise rabbits. Courtney Brown is 14 years old and Colby is 7. They are bringing their rabbit farm with them. Courtney has been showing rabbits for about 6 years through Coleman County 4-H and has had good luck with her rabbits in shows in Coleman, Abilene, San Angelo and Austin. They now would like to see if there is enough interest in Mason County to have a rabbit class in the Mason County Livestock Show. Rabbits are an excellent project for children just getting started in 4-H or FFA and are limited in space for a show animal. A rabbit project helps teach the kids the responsibility of caring for animals.

If anyone is interested in a rabbit project, contact the Mason County Extension Office at 325-347-6459 or Randall Brown at 325-203-7688.
