Rita L. Grosse passed away at her home in Mason on July 5, at the age of 93.

Rita was born on January 3, 1917, in Chicago, Illinois, to Emelio Lenzi and Leonetta Pari Lenzi. She was raised in Chicago. She married Vernon Elslager and after his death she married Dick Grosse.

Rita spent most of her adult life on military bases where her husbands served. After retiring, she and Dick Grosse made their home in Mason where they were members of the First United Methodist Church. One always knew where they stood with Rita.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Zagata of Brownsville and was preceded in death by her husbands. A memorial service in Rita’s honor will be held on Saturday, August 7, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mason with Rev. Tim Fahrenthold officiating.

Memorials in her honor may be made to the Mason Tennis Association or to the First United Methodist Church.
