Mason Wall of Honor
Wednesday, August 4, 2010 • Posted August 4, 2010

Several years ago Texas Monthly magazine rated the Puncher Dome as one of the top ten high school stadiums in Texas. The Puncher Dome is a complete departure from the sterile metal stands that you find at most high schools. "The Old Wooden Girl" is a daily reminder to all that change is not always the best path and there is no better place to be on a cool Autumn Friday night.

Each year the Puncher Club has tried to add a little something to our stadium to help ignite the purple nation. This year, the Puncher Club will unveil the "MASON WALL OF HONOR". The wall will be located in Puncher Alley between the concession stand and bleachers. The plan is to have the wall ready by the Ozona scrimmage which will take place on Saturday, August 14th.

The wall will give you a complete historical snap shot of MHS football by honoring all of the Mason football teams that made Playoff appearences and were District Champions from 1925 to the present. If you were fortunate enough to play for the Punchers, the wall provides the perfect venue to reminisce about all of the great players, coaches, and teams that have represented our community on the gridiron for over 90 years.

The Puncher Club would like to thank Patricia Beaty who ran point on the art work, Lee Graham who provided the historical data, Coach Joy who assisted in the layout and all of the volunteers who donated time and money to this endeavor. (Well done Mason!)
