Wednesday, August 4, 2010 • Posted August 4, 2010

Eight members of the Mason FFA Chapter attended the State FFA Convention held in Corpus Christi, Texas, July 12-16, 2010. The annual event gives students the opportunity to represent their school on a state level with leadership skills. Members are also recognized for their achievements in FFA.

The Lone Star FFA Degree was presented to three Mason students; Garrett Allen, Zach Graves, and Kambrey Hudson. This degree is presented to students that achieve certain criteria through involvement in FFA. Shelby Squires represented Mason in The State FFA Rodeo held each year during the convention. Shelby won Reserve State Champion in barrels and turned in the fastest run of the rodeo. Also attending the State Convention was Alyssa Herrera, Zane Graves, Bodie Adams, and Matt Clark. Each student had the opportunity to act as a voting delegate during the sessions.

Congratulations to these students for their participation and success. For more information on FFA, contact Jarrod Usener or Lance Rasch at Mason High School at 325-347-1122.
