Old Yeller Day - October 2nd
Wednesday, August 11, 2010 • Posted August 11, 2010

Old Yeller Day is scheduled this year for Saturday, October 2nd. Continuing with tradition, the Pet Parade will kick off the event at 10:00 a.m. around the Courthouse Square. So get your pooches ready to rub shoulders with other canine friends. Everyone is invited to participate and all dogs must be leashed during the event.

Following the parade, everyone will move over to Heritage Park, located behind the Library on Moody Street. Festivities will continue and prizes will be awarded to the winners of the dog parade. Tents will be set up for shade and lots of family fun will be waiting on you! Live music, food, pie contest, games, and races are some of the activities to be included.

Keep watching the newspaper for future details on how you can enter the pet parade and pie baking contests. Mark your calendars now and ask your friends and neighbors to join you. Old Yeller Day is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and all proceeds benefit the Mason Library.
