This will be a full-service outpatient therapy program, carefully designed to speed recovery and maximize independence for clients of all ages in Brady, Mason, Eden, Menard, and the surrounding areas.

Brady West is a 106-bed Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care facility owned by Southwest Long-Term Care. For years, Brady West has offered skilled therapies for residents of the facility, including Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies. As of July 1, 2010, they have added Outpatient Therapy, in order to expand their services to a larger population of the community. "The goal of our Rehab Team is to motivate and assist clients in achieving their optimum level of functioning and self-reliance. The Rehab Team at Brady West is committed to providing the best rehabilitation possible, and we feel that continuity of care is a vital component in the restoration of health and independence," states Corrie Dyson, Rehab Director.

Three disciplines of Therapy are available individually, or in any combination of Therapies. These include:

"Rehabilitation is an essential element of life, and our focus and goal remains to restore that function and ability one has lost after an accident or illness," says Tammy Rohlf, Admissions Director. "Sometimes, there remains a need for additional therapy beyond the limitations of inpatient care, and that is where we can help."

All that is needed to qualify for the program is an order from a physician. They work with Medicare and Medicaid, as well as many types of private insurance. The therapists at Brady West can work with clients at any point in their treatment plan and stay with them throughout the care process.

"We are thrilled to be able to provide these services for this community," says Corrie Dyson, Rehab Director. "Before, our services were limited to the Geriatric population. We have a very strong Rehab Team here at Brady West, and we look forward to expanding our expertise to all ages of clients, and providing the best Therapy we can to the citizens of Brady and the surrounding areas."

Hours for Outpatient Therapy are from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. For the convenience of the public, Brady West has added reserved, handicapped-accessible parking for Outpatient Therapy clients, as well as an additional side entrance for clients not wishing to enter through the main building entrance. More information can be obtained by calling (325)597-1580.

In addition to their Outpatient Therapy services, Brady West would also like to announce that Dr. Pete Castro will continue serving as Medical Director for the facility. Dr. Castro has been Medical Director at Brady West since 2002. Although he has recently moved his medical practice and joined the Frontera Clinic in Eden, he has decided to stay on with Brady West. Dr. Castro continues to see his patients and to provide them with the exceptional care and personal attention that they deserve.

Dr. Castro attends monthly Quality Assurance meetings, makes monthly rounds, and is available to attend to the needs of his patients on a daily basis. "Dr. Castro is a very important part of our day-to-day facility operations here at Brady West, and we are very proud to have him serve as our Medical Director," says Mrs. Rohlf.
