New Students to Start at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX

ABILENE, TX (08/16/2010)(readMedia)— The following students are among approximately 550 freshmen and transfer students who will be starting at Hardin-Simmons University during the Fall 2010 semester.

Jordan Washington of Brady, TX.

Hillary Bibb of Mason, TX.

Admission to Hardin-Simmons University is competitive. The Princeton Review has named HSU as a "Best in the West" university in its "2011 Best Colleges: Region by Region." HSU is one of 120 colleges and universities to receive this distinction.

U.S. News and World Report has reported that HSU is one of nine private universities in the nation offering a tuition guarantee program. HSU is also named among the Colleges of Distinction and is on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

Hardin-Simmons University, founded in 1891, is a fully accredited church-related Master’s (comprehensive) University. Affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas since 1941, HSU provides excellence in education enlightened by Christian faith and values.

With its 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio, students enjoy personal attention as they pursue over 70 fields of undergraduate study, 20 programs of graduate study, including the Doctor of Physical Therapy and the Doctor of Ministry degrees. Pre-professional programs include dentistry, engineering, medicine, law, pharmacy, and seminary.

Classes begin Aug. 23.
