During their respective meetings on August 16 and 23, the City of Mason and Mason County both voted to join the P-Line Intervention Association. That is the group of landowners and groups seeking to be heard by the Public Utility Commission during the six month hearing process on the CREZ transmission lines.
During each of their meetings, both groups acknowledged that they had earlier pledged to fight the lines; but, not to involve taxpayer money. During their discussions on joining the intervention group, both governmental bodies indicated that they felt their involvement was crucial to the show of solidarity and support needed in the process. Both groups noted that Kerrville and Kerr County, Fredericksburg and Gillespie County and many more of the groups affected by the CREZ line had signed on as intervenors.
The P-Line Intervention Association is the Menard-Mason-Gillespie group of landowners and affected groups, and they have already retained legal counsel to assist them in their fight. Both the County and the City agreed to donate $500 to the group as part of their committment.
