After a fast shower last week, we now wait to see where this new hurricane goes and how much of a greatly needed rain we are going to get this week. Pray for rain.

I missed a few birthdays last week while I was on a vacation trip to Baltimore: Frances Toeppich on the 4th, Scott Zesch on the 5th, Jerald and Vondell Jordan’s twin grandsons, Kaden and Kyler on the 5th, Don Boyd on the 6th, and Cheryl Fritze on the 7th. Carolyn Vater will celebrate her birthday on September 10th. James Toeppich will have his party on September 12th and Barbara Krause celebrates on September 13th. And Don Baxter will have a great celebration on September 15. And, Bill and Monica Cotter are celebrating their anniversary on September 9th. My wish is that you all have a great celebration.

Our sincere condolences go to the family of Ferdie Slocum after he passed away on Monday afternoon. Keep Lori and the family in your prayers.

Continue to pray for Jane Krause, Andrew Kothmann, Anna Grace Durst, Pearl Leifeste and Etta Marie Mutschink.

There will be a short meeting and discussion of the Administrative Board after church next Sunday. Then, on September 19th, the Board will meet after church for a covered dish lunch and to complete preparations for the Church Conference.

The Church Conference will be held after church on October 3rd. The District Superintendent will deliver the sermon and preside over the Church Conference.

Rev. Krause’s sermon was titled "Costly Faith" and the Gospel scripture for Sunday was Luke 14:25-33.
